What is an immigration physical?

An immigration physical is a requirement for anyone immigrating to the United States who needs a green card to become a permanent resident.

The purpose of the immigration physical is to ensure the public's safety and confirm you meet the health eligibility requirements set by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

You should only schedule your immigration physical when you receive your green card interview dates. Only authorized doctors like Dr. Amer can perform an immigration physical that meets the requirements of the USCIS.

What happens during an immigration physical?

An immigration physical is not a complete medical exam. During this type of physical, Dr. Amer screens for certain medication conditions that could pose a public health risk.

To prepare for your immigration physical, you need to bring:

• Government-issued photo identification
• Vaccination records
• List of medications you take
